  • Off Alaska, a magnitude 7.6 earthquake occurs. [53]

  • In Haicheng, China, a magnitude 7.0 earthquake occurs. 10,000 dead. An evacuation warning was issued the day before the earthquake, due to changes in land elevation and in ground water levels, widespread reports of peculiar animal behavior, and many foreshocks. [53]
