Ver v hd The Virginia V arrives in Gig Harbor

This section has photos and short articles on what has gone before. Any interesting photos or stories we come across on steam, old boats and ships or navigation and seamanship will appear in this section. While we research marine steam and steam ships we have information on shore steam operations as well. We hope to show where the steam enthusiast could see steam equipment or boats. As this can quickly change always check before traveling to a site. We also will have information on the steam engines themselves. Due to space limitations we can not go into too much detail. For detailed information go to the book “Smoke Ash & Steam” second edition.
We will have articles on navigation before the age of electronics as well. These will feature illustrations and text. Some of the subjects will change from time to time so come back to this site and look for new stories on other subjects.
