Recreation / Visiting Program This program matches volunteers with adults who are living in mental health group homes. Volunteers help residents to integrate into the community by engaging in social and recreational activities such as: starting fitness programs, going for coffee, playing pool, going shopping, attending cultural activities or watching sports. Volunteers and clients are matched according to their interests, locations and time availabilities. As a volunteer this is an excellent opportunity to develop an understanding of mental illness as well as support somebody with their recovery goals. All expenses are paid and supervision is jointly provided by Volunteer Victoria and the group home. If you would like to volunteer to provide one-to-one social support to someone living with a mental illness, please call 250-386-2269. [ back to top ]
