Chris Aesoph has focused his volunteer efforts on youth. Over the past few years, he has served with Junior Achievement, Boy Scouts, the Summer Action Camp for Youth, and he has lent his talents to a local community non-profit daycare. Chris is a former journalist and family therapist and has an ongoing interest in writing. He serves as past president of the American Society for Training and Development. He is involved in two community jazz bands, where he plays guitar. Chris founded The Aesoph Group, a firm that does customer research in Canada and the USA for the past 14 years. [ back to top ] Nicole Burgess, a past president of Volunteer Victoria, has been on the board for 10 years. Nicole is an award winning Realtor and a top producer with Pemberton Holmes Ltd. She also has her own business in residential construction. Nicole has a 12-year background in Economic Development for Greater Victoria and is on the board and past president of Sales & Marketing Executives Victoria. She has been involved in many community boards such as Chair of the Sustainable Incomes Committee and a member of the Employer's Task Force (both of the Quality of Life Challenge), and has been on the steering committee of the local Social Purchasing Portal for the region. Nicole is an advocate of entrepreneurial sustainability in the non-profit sector and enthusiastically bridges the non-profit sector with the business community for win-win opportunities. [ back to top ] Suzanne Dane is the President of Resource Solutions Group Inc., a Victoria-based company that specializes in management consulting, strategic planning, community economic development, marketing, communication strategies and project/event management. She is an MBA Executive Management graduate, a Certified Management Consultant, an entrepreneur and an experienced senior-level manager with over 25 years business experience across Canada and internationally. A management consultant for the past 14 years, Suzanne has been involved in a variety of leading edge community development initiatives and events for the public and private sector. She has also spent considerable time consulting to the non-profit sector including BC Cancer Foundation, Silver Threads, Habitat for Humanity and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Victoria. Suzanne sits on the executive of several boards and in her spare time enjoys spending time with her family (4 adult daughters and 3 grandchildren) motorcycling, ocean kayaking and gourmet cooking. [ back to top ] Shannon Feeney is the principal of Feeney & Associates, a Victoria-based human resource (HR) management consulting firm that specializes in recruitment, policy and program development; employee/labour relations; and, outplacement and downsizing strategies. Shannon’s 18 years as a skilled HR professional allows her to provide strategic and specialized support to large corporate employers or work as a contracted human resources department for small and medium sized businesses. Shannon led the Employee and Labour Relations Department at Terasen Gas (Vancouver Island) providing in-house HR consulting services to executive, management and staff in a unionized environment with approximately 300 employees and 3 collective agreements. Shannon holds a Certificate in Industrial Relations from Queen’s University and is certified as a Canadian Management Professional through the Institute of Professional Management. She is a member of the BC Human Resources Management Association. [ back to top ] Kate Hollefreund is the Development Coordinator for the University of Victoria's Faculties of Science and Engineering. Her past experience includes positions with Habitat for Humanity Victoria and CFUV 101.9FM, UVic's Campus/Community Radio Station. Kate holds her certificate in Volunteer Management through Volunteer Victoria and is currently completing a degree in Anthropology at UVic. She is currently a volunteer with Special Olympics Victoria as a soccer coach and serves on the Board of Directors for CFUV. [ back to top ] Winnie Lee is the Coordinator of Educational and Community Bridging Services at the Inter-Cultural Association of Greater Victoria. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Victoria with a specialization in Pacific and Asian Studies. She has worked in the voluntary sector for the past 11 years and has been a member and former Co-Chair of AVRBC (Administrators of Volunteer Resources British Columbia) in the South Vancouver Island region. Winnie is a graduate of the Leadership Victoria class of 2002. She is also in her second term as President of the Victoria Chinatown Lioness Club. Her passions include anti-racism, social justice issues, exploring local Chinese history, and spending time with her two dogs. Winnie is the Past President of Volunteer Victoria. [ back to top ] Nancy Martens is Coordinator of Volunteer Resources for the Vancouver Island Health Authority, Queen Alexandra Centre for Children's Health. She holds a degree in Human Services/Counselling from Iowa State University and a certificate in Volunteer Management from Camosun College. She has worked in this field for twenty-nine years. Nancy believes that to effectively manage volunteers she must also be a volunteer. Nancy has been a volunteer with many organizations in Victoria and is in her 20th season with the Belfry Theatre. After an overseas experience with Canadian Crossroads International she volunteered with Project Literacy Victoria. She has held executive positions with the Administrators of Volunteer Resources BC and is an active member. Nancy is also a member of CAVR. [ back to top ] Kelly Sprackett is currently the President of Volunteer Victoria and has been on the Board for 4 years. Kelly is the Coordinator of Volunteer Services for the Broadmead Care Society operating the Lodge at Broadmead and the Veterans Health Centre. A volunteer since the age of 14, Kelly is committed to promoting and supporting community volunteerism, always with an eye toward the future. Kelly has worked in the community social services and health sectors in Victoria for the past 18 years. She has served on VV's Public Relations Committee and is also a member of AVRBC and CAVR. Her free time is often spent in the pursuit of developing knowledge and new skills. [ back to top ] Patti Sullivan joined Habitat for Humanity Victoria as its Executive Director in 2007 relocating from Manitoba where she served in a number of executive leadership roles including as CEO of the Manitoba Women's Enterprise Centre; Klinic Community Health Centre and COO of Assiniboine Park Enterprise. She also served as Board Chair of the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority; Complaints Commissioner for the Law Society of Manitoba and was an active member of the local Chambers' of Commerce. Winner of the 2006 YM-YWCA Woman of Distinction Award in the Business & Professional Category, Patti has extensive experience serving as a volunteer; developing volunteer programs and leading volunteer based organizations. [ back to top ] Geoff Stagg C.A. has been treasurer for the past 19 years and is a Manager with the Financial Audit Unit of the Office of the Auditor General of British Columbia. Geoff has a Master's Degree from Cambridge University and a wide range of experience as a Chartered Accountant with the Office of the Auditor General here in BC and with Coopers & Lybrand in Alberta, the UK and Africa. [ back to top ] Elizabeth Summers came to Canada from the UK as the wife of a Canadian Naval Officer in 1979. She has lived in many cities including Victoria, Toronto, Halifax, Kingston and Ottawa where she was a freelance writer for many publications and an eager volunteer. She was an inaugural board member of Dawn House Women's Shelter; active on PTAs; on the executive of both Birthright Kingston, the Navy League of Surrey and the Semiahmoo Music Society. She Is a Certified Financial Planner with TD Waterhouse and is looking forward to becoming an active member of Victoria's Volunteer community. Loves literacy, music, fresh air and children. [ back to top ] Geoff Wong specializes in creating strategies that connect his clients to their stakeholders with tangible, measurable results. His work has included the creation of the first national partnership strategy for CBC Television, a provincial sponsorship strategy for ICBC and strategic alliance consulting for Royal Roads University. Geoff has extensive experience in event marketing and sponsorship having worked with Christopher Lang and Associates and The Landmark Group, both headquartered in Toronto. His experience in the non-profit sector includes management and consulting for PacificSport, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the BC Lions Society and the Greater Victoria Hospitals Foundation. Geoff's passions include his wife and two children and spending time in the great outdoors, preferably on a bike or skis. [ back to top ] |
