SHOPPING MALLS AND SHOPPING AREAS

This page contains a list of shopping areas that are spread around greater Victoria. Each has it'sown unique character from the Village atmospher to the Malls at Mayfair and Hillside. This web site contains a number of shopping pages. The homepage contains a list of businesses with links to their web sites. The second page contains a shopping directory where businesses have been listed according to the services or products that they provide. The third page contains a list of Shopping Areas (commercial centres) that are spread around Greater Victoria. Victoria British Columbia is a tourist centre with many attractions and activities. The downtown area is full of sourvenir shops, commercia businesses, art galleries and studios, antique shops, clothing stores, camera stores, restaurants and unique shops. The Bay Centre is the only shopping Mall in the downtown areas. Mayfair Centrel and Hillside Shopping Centre are malls that are within 10 minutes of downtown. There are a number of villages that have shops, places to eat and are worth visiting. Oak Bay Village, Cook Street Village and Broadmead Village are to name a few. Victoria shopping is just plain fun. Something for everyone.

Broadmead Village Shopping Centre- SHOPPING AREA "A"

This character Mall is located at 777 Royal Oak Drive and contains over 45 Shops and Services. Anchor stores include Thrifty's Groceries and Canadian Tire. Located in Map Area 3, Saanich, North in Broadmead, just west of Highway # 17 Map reference #3

Brentwood Bay- SHOPPING AREA "B"

The Brentwood Bay shopping area is located along West Saanich Road on the Saanich Peninsula. It is the neighbourhood shopping area for the people in Brentwood Bay and contain shops, restaurants, grocery stores, etc. Map reference #2

Cadboro Bay Village-SHOPPING AREA "C"

This neighbourhood shopping area serves Ten Mile Point and the University Area. It is located at the corner of Cadboro Bay Road and Sinclair. It contains a variety of shops, services and a Pepper's grocery store. It is close to the popular Gyro Park on Cadboro Bay.Map reference #3

West Shore Town Centrel- SHOPPING AREA "D"

This Modern Mall serves the Western Communities. It contains over 50 stores and services and is located at 2945 Jacklin Road.Map reference #4

Colwood Corners- SHOPPING AREA "E"

This shopping area is at the corner of Goldstream Avenue and Highway 1A. It is the center of a strip of shopping venues that begin just as you turn on to Highway 1A from the Trans Canada Highway and continues on towards Sooke. This area contains a wide variety of stores, shops, restaurants, grocery stores, etc. Map reference #4

Cook Street Village- SHOPPING AREA "F"

This charming village has a wide variety of restaurants, stores, shops. services and grocery stores and a warm neighbourhood atmosphere. It is near the eastern side of Beacon Hill Park and only blocks from the Dallas Road waterfront. It is on Cook Street in the southern part of Victoria Map reference #3

Cordova Bay Village- SHOPPING AREA "G"

This neighbourhood shopping area is in the north eastern part of Saanich on Cordova Bay Road and is on the Eastern waterfront. It is close to parks and the shopping area contains shops, services, a mini golf, restaurants, and Matticks Farm.Map reference #3

Downtown- SHOPPING AREA "H"

The downtown core is the largest of the shopping areas in Greater Victoria. It contains some substantial shopping areas within it, such as Victoria Eaton's Centre, Chinatown, Market Square and hundreds of shops, services, accomodations, theatres, businesses, night spots, and restaurants. The area from the Inner Harbour north several blocks is known as Old Town and is characterized by heritage buildings and lots of shopping.Map reference #6

Esquimalt Plaza- SHOPPING AREA "I"

This is the town centre for Esquimalt and in addition to a wide variety of stores, it is the centre for a large number of businesses that begin as you cross the blue Johnson Street Bridge and continues all of the way to the Esquimalt Naval Base.Map reference #3

Fairfield Plaza-SHOPPING AREA "J"

This shopping area contains numerous shops, stores and services and services the Fairfield community in Victoria.Map reference #3

Gorge Shopping Centre - SHOPPING AREA "K"

This shopping area begins at the corner of Tillicum and Gorge and extends north towards Tillicum Mall. It is a neighbourhood shopping area containing many shops and services. Map reference #3

Hillside Shopping Centre-SHOPPING AREA "L"

This is one of Victoria's largest indoor shopping Malls. It contains over 100 Shops and Services. As with other Major Shopping Centres it is surrounded by a large number of stores and services. Anchor Stores include Sears, Zellers, Thrifty Foods and Bolen Books. It is located on the corner of Hillside and Shelbourne at 1644 Hillside. Map reference #3

James Bay Square- SHOPPING AREA "M"

This neighbourhood shopping area serves the James Bay community in Victoria and contains numerous shops, services and restaurants.Map reference #3

Langford - SHOPPING AREA "N"

This shopping area is in the heart of Langford starting at the corner of Millstream Road and Goldstream Avenue. The area contains shops, services, restaurants, a theatre and much more.Map reference #4

Market Square- SHOPPING AREA "O"

This shopping area is located at 560 Johnson street. It is a rectangular, 3 storey shopping area with an open courtyard in the centre. It's unique character and variety of shops, services and restuarants make it a popular downtown shopping area.Map reference #6

Mayfair Shopping Centre-SHOPPING AREA "P"

This is Victoria's Largest Shoppinig Area and like other large indoor malls, it is surrounded by a large business and shopping area. The Mall anchor stores include The Bay, Pacific Linen and Toys 'R Us and 135 other shops, services and businesses. It is located at 3147 Douglas.Map reference #3

Oak Bay Village-SHOPPING AREA "Q"

This charming village is the town centre for the Municipality of Oak Bay. It contains a variety of shops, services, restaurants and businesses. Map reference #3

Royal Oak Shopping Centre-SHOPPING AREA "R"

This is a neighbourhood shopping area that serves the Royal Oak area. It is located at 4478 West Saanich Road. Map reference #3

This neighbourhood shopping area is located at 3989 Quadra Street and anchor stores include London Drugs and Thrifty's Groceries. Map reference #3

Shelbourne Plaza/Village Square -SHOPPING AREA "T"

This neighbourhood shopping area is located at the corner of Shelbourne Street and Cedar Hill X Road. It contains numerous shops, stores, grocery stores and services.Map reference #3

Sidney by the Sea-SHOPPING AREA "U"

This is the town centre of Sidney on the northern end of Saanich Peninsula. Shops, stores and businesses are primarily along Beacon Avenue and one or two blocks to the north and south, ending on the Sidney waterfront.Map reference #2

Stelly's Cross Road-Central Saanich- SHOPPING AREA "V"

This is a neighbourhood shopping area that serves the community area of Central Saanich on the Saanich Peninsula. It contains numerous shops, businesses and light industrial industry.Map reference #2

Sooke Village-SHOPPING AREA "W"

This is the town centre of Sooke, a community of some 10,000 people on the Western side of Greater Victoria. It contains shops, services, business, restaurants and more, stretching along Highway 1A as it passes through Sooke.Map reference #5

Tillicum Mall-SHOPPING AREA "X"

This is a large indoor mall containing over 70 stores and services. It serves Western Saanich and is border by shopping areas on Burnside Road East and Tillicum Road. It is next to the G. R. Pearkes Community Recreation Centre.Map reference #3

Town & Country Shopping Centre- SHOPPING AREA "Y"

This is a large mall a wide variety of shops and services, with neighbouring shopping accross Vernon Avenue. It is located at 880 Douglas. Anchor stores include Wal-Mart and Fairway Market (Groceries). This area also includes Saanich Plaza which is immediately north at 3510 Blanshard Street. Map reference #3

University Heights Shopping Centre-SHOPPING AREA "Z"

This indoor mall contains over 40 shops and services as well as four theatres. Anchor stores include Safeway (Groceries) and Zellers. It serves the Gordon Head & University Areas. It is located at 3980 Shelbourne as has adjacent shopping. Map reference #3

Victoria Bay Centre-SHOPPING AREA "AA"

This indoor shopping mall is one of Victoria's largest and newest Malls. It contains 4 levels of shopping surround a sky lit courtyard. It contains a food court and most shops and services. It is centrally located in downtown Victoria at the corner of Douglas and View streets.Map reference #6
