Travel North via the North Shore Highway to the Horseshoe Bay Ferry Terminal, and board the Nanaimo or Victoria bound ferry. Ferry Information can be found here. OR: Travel South to the Tswassen Ferry Terminal via Highway 99 and board the Victoria bound Ferry. |
FROM SEATTLE:
Travel North to the Anacortes Ferry Terminal and board the Victoria bound Ferry. Washington State Ferry information can be found here. Please be aware that you will have to pass thru Canadian Customs when boarding the ferry. |
| FROM VICTORIA:
(The ferry docks at Sidney Harbour: take #17 South to Victoria.) Take the Island Highway (#1) North to Nanaimo. The trip from Victoria to Nanaimo will take about 2 hours by car. See "From Nanaimo" for further instructions. |
FROM NANAIMO:
Take the Island Highway North towards Parksville. Before you get to Parksvillem take the exit to Port Alberni (This is Island Highway #4. The highway's name changes to the Pacific Rim Highway about a half-hour outside of Port Alberni.) Continue on this highway all the way to the Tofino-Uculet junction. |
| Once you have left Nanaimo, enjoy the picturesque
views and gently winding highway. You will be traveling through some of Canada's
most spectacular forests. This leg of your trip will take about 3 hours, depending
on the traffic, so please be properly prepared. Your next traffic decision is at the Tofino-Uculet Junction. Take the Junction North to Tofino (about 20 minutes). Finding Meares Retreat in Tofino is very simple. You'll find a detailed map and step-by-step instructions on the next page. |
