Approximately one hundred miles south of St. Louis, Missouri the Iron Mountain Railroad Train was robbed about 3:00 pm January 31, 1874. This robbery is credited to a five to seven member gang.
The reports concerning amount of monies liberated varies from $ 2,000 to $ 22,000.00 and passengers personal possessions. Many believe that $12,000.00 Might be closer to the truth.
