2001 CENSUS OF CANADA

 

Statistics Canada has calculated, based upon 20 percent sample data, that there were 3,295 Spiritualists in Canada in 2001.  Of that number, 32 percent were male (1,060) and 68 percent were female (2,235).

 

Spiritualists were enumerated in all provinces and territories except Newfoundland/Labrador, Prince Edward Island, the Northwest Territory, and Nunavut.  The largest Spiritualist populations were in two of the most populated provinces (1,410 in Ontario and 1,040 in British Columbia), followed by Alberta (375), Manitoba (185), Quebec (180), Nova Scotia (40), Saskatchewan (25), New Brunswick (20), and Yukon Territory (15).
