This non-denominational, independent organization was first established in 1961 to provide a meeting point for healers and to establish a proper standard of work and conduct for its members. Healers represent all shades of thought and meet on common non-sectarian ground.
The association follows as its foundation the spiritual healing methods of Harry Edwards (1893-1976). With an international membership, the association holds seminars, and administers The Canadian Spiritual Healers Course and examinations. Worldwide healing requests are taken by phone or mail for private and distant healing and may be directed to a nearby spiritual healer.
In addition to being certified by the Canadian Spiritual Healers Association as Full Healers, the Lightfield Group healers, who have been working together since 1996, employ the Hanna Kroeger method in their healing work.

The Canadian Spiritual Healers Association, formerly known as the National Federation of Spiritual Healers (Canada), Inc., was incorporated by the Government of Canada on 15 July 1968. The change of name was effective 13 June 2000.
