The primary purpose of the Survival Research Institute of Canada (SRIC) is to investigate whether some part of human consciousness or personality survives physical death and whether that surviving "spirit" is able to communicate with the living. Our current research topics include:
Canadian Spiritualists - individuals who were convinced of life after death and became leaders among their generation in promoting the Spiritualist religion within Canada
Canadian Psychical Researchers - medical doctors and other professionals who actively conducted psychical research experiments, that is, outside of a religious setting
Canadian Spiritualist Organizations - incorporated societies that have acted as national or international umbrella organizations for Spiritualist churches
Canadian Authors on Survival after Death - writers who have addressed such topics as life after death, reincarnation, and spirit communication through mediumship
Canadian Ghost Investigators - individuals who have researched hauntings and brought them to public attention
Canadian Fellow Travellers - individuals who have experienced spirit communication, ghosts, table-tilting, or other psychic phenomena
Canadian Scientists - trained academics who have pursued consciousness studies in order to explain psychic phenomena
Psychic Phenomena - studies of particular types of paranormal phenomena as they relate to life after death
As time permits, SRIC volunteers conduct research and liaise with others working in the field of survival research.
