"Mr. Smalley, I have been wanting to contact you since I moved to Seattle almost 10 years ago. I hope to come to Victoria for an extended visit sometime, and hope that perhaps you can point me towards some interesting organs to visit. I know I want to see the Appleton at Church of Our Lord. The Casavant (Op. 293, 1907) at St. Andrew's RC Cathedral also looks interesting. I especially enjoy older instruments. Your web page is delightful, and I will certainly visit again. I will hope to make your acquaintance in the future!"

"I truly enjoyed the tour of Victoria organs, and learned of several that were new to me, such as the John Brombaugh. I grew up for a few years in Sidney and when I was older did a degree in organ in the U.S. I also worked for Casavant and Letourneau. Eventually I ended up teaching piano and have somewhat neglected to pursue organ to the extent that I once did, but it is still deeply loved and I must say that these pictures from victoria have brought back many memories. I especially feel badly that the terraced consoles and turn of the century casavant pipework is so much altered or replaced recently. I well remember tuning the organ at the Cathedral in Guelph Ontario and finding the original scaling and voicing to be simply fabulous in a rich acoustical environment and the terraced console to be a very special experience. Thus, when I see the organ of metropolitan United without its' original console, it hurts a little. However, maybe the acoustics aren't that great. I must go, but thank-you again for the wonderful pictures. r ganz 536-1649"
