Noctilucent Clouds Photo Gallery
On 6 July 2007, in the Village of Valemount, British Columbia, Canada (52o 46' N, 119o 15' W), I witnessed a display of noctilucent clouds to the northwest above the set sun. The following photographs were taken during the time period 10:59 pm (PDT) to 11:21 pm. Local sunset was at 9:22 pm. All but the last photo of the eight was taken without a tripod so the images are a bit blurry (I was afraid of missing the display). All were taken with a Fujifilm FinePix S700 Camera, F3.5, exposure 3 seconds.
For information on noctilucent clouds, see my August Weather Almanac piece Noctilucent Clouds: Mystery in the High Atmosphere.
