Last Will and Testament of Robert Osborne Konkle

This is the Last Will and Testament of me Robert Osborne Konkle of the Township of Clinton in the County of Lincoln, Yeoman.

First, - I will and direct that my executors, hereinafter named shall pay all my just debts, funeral and testamentary expenses.

Second, - I will and direct that my wife Elizabeth Konkle, shall have and enjoy during her lifetime three rooms in the old homestead, a cow, the use of a horse, harness and buggy or cutter when she desires it, necessary food, fuel, and clothing, also keep for the cow, and be paid the sum of fifty dollars yearly by George E. Konkle and Alexander Konkle, making one-hundred dollars to be paid to her during her lifetime, and the necessary household furniture.

Third, - I will and direct that my daughter Susan Konkle shall have her home with her mother, a room in the old homestead with necessary bed and furniture, while she remains single and during her life time.

Fourth, - I give devise and bequeath to my son George E. Konkle the south half of the old homestead being a part of Lot Twenty-two in the Fifth Concession of the said Township of Clinton with all buildings and machinery thereon and one-half of my farm stock and implements, subject to the payment of Fifty Dollars per year and the furnishing of the one-half of the maintenance mentioned in section two of this my will.

Fifth, - I give devise and bequeath to my son Alexander Konkle the north half of the old homestead being part of Lot Twenty-two in the Fifth Concession of the said Township of Clinton with the house thereon and to have a barn built thereon, George E. Konkle to help and assist to build the same, he to (Alex) be subject to the payment of Fifty Dollars, per year and the furnishing of the one half of the maintenance mentioned in clause Second. – also one-half of my farm stock and implements.

Sixth, - I give and bequeath to my sons John A. Konkle and James H. Konkle share and share alike my veteran land grant being Parcel 5084 in the Register for Rainy River F.F. situate in the Township of Spohn in the Rainy River District and Province of Ontario, being the South half of Lot Number Two in the Seventh Concession of the said Township Containing 159 Acres more or less.

Seventh, - I will and direct that my executors hereinafter named shall sell and dispose of to the best advantage my 50 acre farm being in the Township of South Grimsby being the North part of Lot Number One, known as the Pine Ridge Lot also all lumber (after payment of the cost of manufacture) and from and out of the proceeds to pay off the Mortgage on said Lot of $400.00 and the $1500.00 on the old homestead and my just debts, the residue to be divided share and share alike between my daughters Emma Potter, Susan Konkle, Elizabeth Chadwick, Frances Bessey and Eliza Walters.

Eighth, - I hereby nominate and appoint my said son George E. Konkle, George Bater and James E. Zimmerman the executors of this my Last Will and Testament at the same time making null and void all other and former Last Wills and Testaments by me heretofore made.
