Copy of the Last Will & Testament of ADAM KUNKLE, of BEAMSVILLE, on file in the records of the County of Lincoln, City of St. Catharines, Ontario.

In the name of God, Amen - I Adam Kunkle senior of the Township of Clinton, Lincoln County, district of Niagara and Province of Upper Canada, Farmer, being Weak in Body but sound in mind, (Blessed be Almighty God for the same) I considering the uncertainty of this Mortal Life, and that it is appointed for all men once to Die, do make and publish this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following, That is to say I Desire my Executors hereinafter named first of all, to bury my Body, in my orchard on my farm, in a Decent and Christianlike manner, hoping at the Day of the Ressurrection of the Dead to arise in the Glory of my Saviour - Then further I Give and bequeath unto my beloved Wife Mary Kunkle, a good Feather Bed and Bedding, a good cow, and Two Sheep, and Do insist on my Executors to see that my two sons hereinafter mentioned shall Maintain, Nurrish and keep her, the said Mary Kunkle, in Victuals & Drink, houseroom, and every accomodation fit for a good Mother, as long as she lives, and remains my Widow, But in case of marriage, it shall not continue any longer. I then give further to my Son Adam Kunkle His Heirs and Assigns for Ever First of all as an Extroniry present and gift my clock, which shall stay with him, and then my Farm whereon I now live Beginning from lake Ontario and joining the Lands of William Walkerson and the head of it to John Singer and where there is a Maple Tree marked as a Corner from thence it runs a straight course down to Lake Ontario to a Chestnut Tree marked on purpose as a line Between my son Henry and Adam Kunkle. I then will that my Two Sons Adam and Henry shall Equally Divide all my household goods and furniture and likewise all my Movable Property in Cattle Horses and (paper torn here - unreadable)

They shall likewise equally Divide between them Two Sons of Mine, and shall be theirs, their Heirs and assigns for Ever. Then further my son Henry shall have the East side of my farm, beginning at the fore mentioned Chestnut Tree near Lake Ontario and runs the same straight line up to John Singers land below the lands of Samuel Consine and land of Daniel House and the Down line between my land and the Overholds to Lake Ontario again, Which said tract or parcel of Land shall be my son Henry Kunkle, his heirs and assigns for Ever. I then order my Son Adam Kunkle to let his Brother Henry have the half part of Apples and Half of the Cyder that can be made, until he the said Henry Kunkle shall have, or raise apples and make Cyder of his Own Trees, and no longer. I then further give to my four Daughters, Charity, Anna, Philibeen and Mary, One hundred Dollars which shall be equally Divided amoungst these four Girls, and shall be paid within One years Time after my Departure of this Life, by my two Sons Adam and Henry Kunkle. I then further give to my two Daughter Elizabeth and Margaret Five Dollars to each of them, which shall likewise be paid , by my two sons, Adam and Henry Kunkle, within one Year after my departure of this Life. And lastly I Appoint, Nominate and request Peter Tallman, Joseph Adair, and Mary Kunkle, my Wife, to be my Executors of this my last Will and Testament, I do hereby revoke all former Wills and Testaments.

In Witness of this my last Will and Testament, I have hereunto set my hand and Seal on the Eighteenth day of February in the Year of Our Lord, One Thousand Eight hundred and thirteen.
