Night Flight Call Report Form

Thank you for helping us map the fall migration routes over southern Vancouver Island. Please complete the following form to the best of your ability. It's not necessary to be able to identify the species of bird making the call for your information to be valuable. In fact, we need your reports indicating that no birds were heard as much as we need positive reports!

The calls of migrating birds are most frequently heard between two hours and half an hour before sunrise. For the purpose of this pilot, we want to know about what you heard while it's still dark.

For more information on the night flight calls of migratory birds, visit birds.cornell.edu or join the Night Flight Call listserv.

To listen to the night calls of the Swainson's Thrush, the most likely bird you will hear in this area, click here and then on the "click to listen" links on the page.
