Right Intuition

"Men/women of devout faith, the teachings which th Buddha expounded are all for the purpose of saving people from their suffering. Sometimes I spoke of myself, sometimes of others; sometimes I presented myself, sometimes others; sometimes I showed my own actions, sometimes those of others. All my doctrines are true and none are false." Sixteenth Chapter, Lotus Sutra

"Myself," here means the Buddha and the world of Buddhahood. "Others," being the other nine Worlds. [ Hell, Hunger, Anger, Animality, Human, Heaven, Learning, Realization, Bodhisattva ] explaining that our earthly passions are part and parcel of Health and Happiness as well as life's challenges and sufferings. So the great message here is that Buddhahood in not end of the highway, the Buddha Wheel is continually rolling through the heavens and on earth, always in flux and change, with a start, a middle and an end, before beginning again, somewhere, sometime, someplace else. The nine Worlds and Buddhahood are all fundamentally attainable, but never constant.

Mutual Possession

It is in understanding the mutual possession of life that our passions make way for the purpose of eliminating all our doubts, pains and sufferings. How wonderful. As frightful or wonderful the experience of the opening of our eyes for the first time, shortly after birth, we cannot remember it though it is not forgotten, for we are born with a pure mind, that unfortunately carries with it various forms of karma, some heavy, some not so heavy. How many earthly passions are awakened in our first moments in this new world, what pathway of life will each of us lead in our early childhood, adolescence, adulthood and aging. How is it we make our choices as we develop through our seasons of planting, sowing and maturing, as we prepare our life's harvest. Are we capable of reaching beyond the desires of body and mind to find true inner Self and peaceful means in our spiritual Being? This is why the Buddha came with the message of compassion, and the medicine to alleviate all suffering, self inflicted or not.

"Sometimes I presented myself, sometimes others" How important that we give thanks for the discovery of the Ten Worlds of the Buddha Dharma, that we may see how to rescue ourselves from all pain and suffering. Which begs the question of whether we understand that our hope for happiness needs to extend to the energy required to think of others as well as ourselves?

To say that if I am to find my inner self, I must extend my passion to help others end their suffering and pain, takes both empathy and compassion. The foundation of our Buddha practice. I am responsible to assist where I can with the happiness of family members, friends and all people who enter my pathway.

" I showed my own actions" here means studying the Buddha's Seven Lessons, reading the Lotus Sutra, questioning our capacity to fathom the depths of our knowledge, so that we can open the broad doors to the universal, mystic Law that governs our world and our life. That in acquiring Buddha-wisdom we will have the ability to help others. We will be given the gift of living in the higher Worlds, rather than in the lower Worlds, feeling the "bliss" of our Being, the reward of our efforts in daily meditation.

What does the Buddha mean when he says "sometimes I show the actions of others?" Here is the realization that All people who come into our life as mentors and teachers carry the Buddha energy offering us an opportunity to learn and realize various life's lessons. The quest always is "are we willing" to turn our poison into medicine, our doubts and passions into truth and action?

All my doctrines are true and none are false." The Buddha is telling everyone here, it is not about doctrine or debate, all is One. But, how do we find out what is true for us? This is the challenge in our life. We need to work on getting to that place of "non-backsliding" the place of "no doubt," that we may find our happiness and turn our challenges, pain and suffering into joy and bliss, that we may then reach back and help others. This is the path to Buddhahood.

Enjoy this day, listen to your inner intuitions and your earthly passions. Know that they are wonderful and will lead to your wisdom and enlightenment, for you are truly a great person.

Respectfully, Henry

"Life is more than a journey, it is most importantly Your Journey,
