David Tutwiler
David Tutwiler's paintings hang in some of America’s most prestigious collections, public and private. Since 1981, he's received over twenty one awards, including the Guild of Boston Artists Award For Traditional Painting, The Marguerite Pearson Gold Medal Award and the Award of Excellence by the National Park Academy of the Arts.
Tutwiler is an avid railroad enthusiast and a member of the Society of Steam Era Artists and the National Railway Historical Society. Pepsi Cola and the Steamtown Foundation are among the corporations and railroad organizations who have commissioned his work.
"There's something about an old steam locomotive that appeals to everyone's sense of nostalgia and tradition, and I'm certainly no exception," he says.
In addition to being one of America's foremost painters of steam era railroading, David's portfolio includes significant pieces depicting traditional American landscapes and sailing vessels. His studios are located in some of America’s most scenic locales: the southern shores of Lake Michigan, the verdant valleys of Vermont and the rocky coastline of Massachusetts. It was here that his interest in ships flourished, leading to an invitation as guest artist aboard the tall ship Unicorn during Boston's Sesquicentennial.
David currently divides his time between his studios on Indiana's Lake Michigan and in Rockport, Massachusetts.

We currently have available two high quality poster reproductions of David's work: "Age of Steam" and "Steam in the Rockies". Paper size for both images is 36" x 24"; image size is just over 28" x 18" and the price for each is Canadian$38.
