Red Pass Junction

The original Canadian Northern Pacific and Grand Trunk Pacific mainlines followed parallel routes through Jasper and Yellowhead Pass before diverging towards their respective destinations of Vancouver and Prince Rupert.
After both became major components of Canadian National Railways, the better sections of each line were formed into one up to Red Pass Junction at the western end of Moose Lake.

On a winter afternoon the Vancouver bound Continental passes the station on the Alberta subdivision. The track visible behind the building is the start of the Tete Jaune subdivision (Prince Rupert).
The station, water tank, hotel, store and other buildings are now gone.
