Nearing the top of the grade at Glacier, the east-bound train will soon enter the five mile long Connaught tunnel through Mount McDonald. In the forty mile climb from Revelstoke, the train has gained 2000 feet in elevation, the last nineteen miles at a 2.5% grade. Equal to the task are the two big "Selkirks", T1b #5929 with T1a # 5915, one of the original twenty of this class - Canadian Pacific's largest and most powerful locomotives
