The Canadian at Morant's Curve
Max Jacquiard

The hillside overlooking this scene near Lake Louise was a favourite camera location of C.P.R. special photographer Nicholas Morant. This painting of the eastbound "Canadian" features the famous train in its original colours of the 1950s. The lead units, FP7A #1425 and F7B #4459, are presently being restored to their original appearance at the West Coast Railway Association's Heritage Park at Squamish. {The town of Squamish is about thirty miles north of Vancouver (British Columbia) at the top of Howe Sound. The Royal Hudson travels daily between North Vancouver and Squamish in the summer.}
