SECTION 10: TWH COMBINED CLASSES TWO MAY VERSATILITY: OPEN or MARES or STALLIONS or GELDINGS or LADIES or GENTLEMEN or YOUTH -This class may be English to Western, or Western to English. English appointments as described in PART IV, SECTION 2 Rule a or PART IV, Section 3, Rule a. Western appointments as described in PART IV, SECTION 5 rule a. Horses will be shown at the walk, running walk, and canter both ways of the ring. The horses may be asked to back individually or in a group. When the English portion of this class has bean completed, the judge will allow one groom for each rider to enter the ring, and assist the rider in changing from English appointments to Western appointments. When the change has been completed, the rider will return to the rail (riding at will) and await the arrival of all other competitors. The class will then continue as a Western Class. The horses will be shown at the walk, running walk, and lope both ways of the ring. The horses may be asked to back individually or in a group. To be judged equally as an English Pleasure Class and a Western Pleasure class. 60% performance and manners, 30% conformation, 10% fittings. THREE WAY VERSATILITY: ENGLISH to WESTERN to BAREBACK or WESTERN to ENGLISH to BAREBACK Appointments as per English and Western sections. Class to be conducted and judged as described in Two May Versatility. Horses will line up after the Western class, and the grooms will strip the horses for the Bareback section of the class. When all competitors have returned to the rail the horses will perform the walk, running walk, and lope both ways of the ring. To be judged equally as an English Pleasure, Western Pleasure, and Bareback class. 60% performance and manners, 30%. conformation, 10%' fittings. TWH DRIVE and RIDE: -- OPEN or MARE or STALLION or GELDING or MAIDEN HORSE and/or RIDER, or NOVICE HORSE and/or RIDER: Class MUST specify whether the same person must drive and ride, OR one person may drive and a different person may ride. The riding section of this class may be English or Western. Appointments as par PART IV, Section 7 (TWH DRIVING), PART IV, Section 2, Rule a (TWH Plantation Pleasure), and PART IV, Section 5, Rule a (TWH Western Pleasure). Horse, buggy, and driver will enter the ring and proceed as described in the Pleasure Driving section. When the horses are in the lineup the judge will call for grooms to enter end remove the tack from the horse. Care will be taken that safety is of paramount importance. When stripped, the horse will be refitted with English or Western tack. Once the tack change is completed, the rider will stand beside his mount until the Judge indicates that all exhibitors have completed the tack change. At the judge's command riders will mount and ride at will on the rail until all buggies are removed from the ring. The class will continue as a Plantation Pleasure or Western Pleasure class. TO BE JUDGED. equally as a TWH Pleasure Driving and TWH Plantation Pleasure or TWH Western Pleasure. SECTION 11: TWH SPECIALTY CLASSES TWH WATER GLASS: OPEN or ADULT or YOUTH -- Each exhibitor enters the ring holding a full glass of water, provided by the show committee, and performs the Flat Walk and Running Walk both ways of the ring. The exhibitor with the most water left in their glass wins the class. In case of a tin, a canter may be called. One hand is used to hold the glass, below the rim, out and away from the horse and rider. Riders may not stand in the stirrups. Ribbons to 6th place. TWH SOUTHERN BELLE: OPEN or ADULT or YOUTH -- Ladies to ride only mares and geldings. This is a pleasure class, and may be two or throe gait. Entries to be ridden with side-saddle. Exhibitor to wear antebellum costume. The procedures and requirements of the Pleasure Horse shall apply. TO BE JUDGED: 50% costume and appointments of horse and rider, 50% performance. TWH BELLES AND BEAUS. OPEN or ADULT or YOUTH or ADULT and YOUTH COMBINATION -- Open to tea horses par entry. To be ridden by a male in Saddle Suit, and a female in antebellum costume and sidesaddle. Ladies to ride only mares or geldings. This is Pleasure class and may be 2 or 3 gait. TO BE JUDGED: 50%. costume and appointments of horses and riders as a pair, 50% performance as a pleasure horse. TWH MATCHED PAIRS: OPEN or ADULT or YOUTH -- A pair must be either Western or English, but the class may include both English and Western entries. This is a pleasure class and may be either two or three gait. TO BE JUDGED: 50% costume and appointments of horses and riders as a pair, 50% performance as a pleasure horse. TWH EASY RIDER: OPEN or ADULT or YOUTH or BASED ON AGE OF COMPETITORS This class is designed to show how smooth and easy the TWH horse is to ride. Open to horses of any age. This class places a strong emphasis on the smoothness and comfort of Flatfoot Walk and the Running Walk. Horses will be required to back. The same horse and rider combination MAY enter a three gait class in the same show. TO BE JUDGED: 70% quality of the gait, 30%. manners. TWH BAREBACK: OPEN or ADULT or YOUTH -- This class may be English or Western and may be two or three gait. TO BE JUDGED: as a Pleasure Class as described in PART IV, SECTION 1, Rule m. TWH GENTLE HORSE: YOUTH -- This class is designed to show the gentle disposition of the TWH. Each competitor performs individually and has 90 seconds to show the Gentle nature of his horse. They may use costumes, props etc. to help demonstrate, but safety must always be considered. TO BE JUDGED: 50%. on the merit of the performance, 50% on the gentleness of the horse. TWH SPEED WALKING: Ideally this class will be performed on a flat track but may be conducted in an arena. Entries begin at the Flat walk. At a specified point they begin the Running walk with speed. It is suggested that horses who break gait. must stop and circle before returning to the gait they were performing before the break occurred. TO BE JUDGED: 50% speed in running walk, and 50% on overall performance and conformation. TWH PARADE HORSE: OPEN or PLANTATION or WESTERN or SOUTHERN BELLE or BELLES and BEAUS -- A Parade Horse is an eye-catching, stylish animal, displaying refinement and personality. The total picture of horse and rider should be striking. Equipment and rider shall be suitable to the horse. Beauty is important, and blemishes shall be penalized. The horse will be shown only at the flatfoot walk both ways of the ring. Horses will be asked to halt on the rail, and back up in the line up. T0 BE JUDGED: 50% quality of total presentation, 50% manners and suitability. TWH RIDER TO JUDGE: OPEN or ADULT or YOUTH -- This class is designed to furnish the exhibitor an opportunity to judge a TWH class. This class may be English or Western. All exhibitor's numbers are placed in a hat and one is drawn by the Judge. That person will then dismount, go to the contra of the ring, and take the place of the judge for the remainder of the class. TO BE JUDGED: as a Pleasure Class.
