Buffalo
Hide Drum Making Weekends
Make your own hand held drum buffalo
drum in ceremonial and fun ways.
The
Beat of the Drum, it calls us home...
home... earth, air, sun, water
and we remember... remember...
sitting in council around a fire...
ancient wisdom dancing in our hearts and bodies
The Beat
of the Drum, it calls us home...
home... Earth... Beating, Breathing, Dreaming.
Universe... Beating, Breathing, Dreaming...
together with our Hearts... Beating, Breathing, Dreaming
and we remember...
remember the original instructions how to become human once again,
remember how to become part of a miraculous dance of all life again.
These two weekends are wrapped around the cycles of the
November moon...
starting around the new moon to create intention and to build power through
working the hide,
and transforming the hide into a drum to be initiated on the full moon

Fire in
the Rain Gathering
A Gathering for People Longing to Belong
June 11– 13, the Yurt, Old West
Saanich Road, Victoria
Fire in
the Rain is
a unique gathering of people who look at the world with clear,
sometimes sad and often confused eyes... knowing what’s
going on and what’s at stake while searching for their
own way of dealing with and being in all this.
For many of us the state of the world feels overwhelming and
in order to protect ourselves we shut the painful parts down...
we deny, feel helpless or blame... not realizing that through
these attitudes we stay helpless and powerless victims of circumstances,
unable to be/bring the change we are looking for. During Fire in
the Rain we
delve deeply into our coping mechanisms - the way we deal with
pain and fear - and explore which empower us and which don’t.
This is the work we are all called to do on an ongoing
basis, and it holds the promise of deep and real transformation...
a transformation that comes from the heart and spreads out
to the community of all life.
As facilitators we hold the space for these transformations
to happen and create exercises and ceremonies that help us to
move through denial, helplessness and blame – the Victim
Stance – into the Power Stance... a way of being that stays
open hearted and empowered even in the face of adversity, pain
and fear. This power-filled stance helps us to engage deeply
with the joys and sorrows of living in a body on the earth while
expressing our voice and passion.
If you are called to become the change you want to see
in the world and if you would love to engage on this journey
in the context of a sharing and caring community, Fire in the
Rain may be exactly what you are looking for.
Fire in the Rain moves away from the regular workshop setting...
one teacher and many students... and sees us as all teachers
and all students in the great dance of life. We learn more about
who we are and how to share it in a safe way, we “chop
wood and carry water” or, we cook, eat and do the dishes
together, and we share the cost of the gathering.
As facilitators we ask for a donation to cover time and
effort of organizing the gathering, but in the spirit of community
and sharing we do not charge professional fees.
The Gathering is held at the Yurt in Saanich, Victoria, a beautiful
10 acre property with a small lake, trails, tall trees, a medicine
wheel, a labyrinth, and many other places of beauty and power.
Participants can sleep in one of the two yurts or camp. There
are no showers but plenty of water and of course the little lake.
Please get in touch with either one of us to ask questions or
to receive the registration form.
We are looking forward to being with you.

Ongoing
Monthly
Shamanic Explorations and Adventures...
every 3rd Sunday from noon – 5, contribution $50
In this monthly circle we delve together into the tool box of
the ancient ones to rediscover what helped them to live in good
relationship with oneself, each other, the earth and spirit and
to adapt it for our everyday life. This is about exploring the
shamanic worldview... a world of interconnections and interdependence.
Of course this includes personal work and deepening our relationship
with our Power Animals and Spirit Teachers and we learn traditional
and new healing tools for self, each other and the earth.
A big part of this circle is journeying outside, in nature, and
learn from the spirits that inhabit this place, including learning
about edible and medicinal plants, finding or creating power
places, mini vision quests, group ceremonies and exploration
of Middle World energies, like measuring energy, tracking energetic
foot prints, or shape shifting.
This teaching/exploring circle is geared towards people with
a deep longing for meaningful connections to all there is and
a curiosity to explore what’s in here and out there. The
prerequisite is a functional relationship with one’s Power
Animals and Spirit Teachers and of course the willingness to
be guided by compassionate powers way beyond our understanding.

more often it takes up to five sessions to deeply integrate
the healing. Many clients come back when they are ready to
tackle the next step on their journey, and in between sessions
Marianne is available for support whenever the need arises.

Workshops
Starting the Journey
Home...
Shamanism as a Tool for Personal Healing and Empowerment
In this basic weekend or four
evenings course you will learn the universal
core understandings of shamanic cultures, with
focus on journeying into non-ordinary realities
to retrieve answers, help and healing from compassionate
spirits. You will receive specific information
and healing hand-tailored to your personal needs
directly from the source... the powers of the
earth and the universe.
The Path of the Wounded Healer
To become power-filled healers we need to look
inside first and heal our own wounds and beliefs.
This not only gives us the confidence and protection
needed to do this work, but also the compassion
for the pain and suffering around us. And last
but not least, the better we know who we are
the less we bring our own shadow side into a
healing session... in order to become empty during
healing sessions
we need to know what to empty first!
Marianne offers an advanced shamanic
healing training program for people who are interested
in using shamanism as a healing tool for others.
Much of emphasis in these small groups or one-on-one
teachings is put on personal integrity and responsibility
and personal healing or balancing. Because this
is such an individual and experiential path,
there is no time frame attached to this program,
only following the advice of the spirits.
All major shamanic healing techniques will be learned and practiced
including how to facilitate circles, how to hold the space
so that the spirits can take centre stage and not the facilitator
or one participant, how to protect the circle and last but
not least, the meaning and healing properties of a circle.

Getting
to know the Spirits of Place
Shamanism is an earth-based spirituality,
and working with the spirits of place, the spirits
of the land and the sky has helped indigenous
peoples to live in what we call "harmony
with nature".
In this mostly outdoor workshop we will attune ourselves to
the place, learn to communicate with the spirits that live
in this place and allow our souls to be nourished while nourishing
the spirits with our willingness to learn.
We will learn about fairies,
communicate with the spirits of plants, animals,
rocks, etc.
and share our gifts with each other.
We learn how to make flower essences,
learn more shamanic divination tools, ask and
receive specific ceremonies, and learn how to
become co-creators in balance with all life.
This workshop is open to everyone interested
in creating a deeper relationship with the world around us
and there’s
no shamanic experience needed.

NEW!
May the Dance of Life continue...
Teachings from the Tree of Life
A heart opening, mind freeing and life changing experiential adventure
into body and spirit.
In these
two one-week intensive and all-embracing seminars
we explore, heal and balance our relationship with the
Great Feminine, Great Masculine,
Fire, Water Earth and Air. Through shamanic journeying, energy healing, laughter,
tears, rites of passages and ceremonies
we re-claim
our birthright and responsibility of living in balance with all on this miraculous,
mysterious, living, blue planet. The intention is to compassionately get in touch,
acknowledge and release blockages, pain and dysfunctional myths and beliefs,
may they come from physical, emotional, mental or spiritual levels, from this
life time or any other, handed down from our ancestors or acquired through our
own stories. This process heals ourselves and the past all the way back to the
original wound and opens up the way for us to create a future worth living for
all.
Both weeks are based on deep personal explorations of soul, karma, tasks,
spirit, purpose and creating a future worth living for all. To benefit to the
fullest, attendance for both weeks is essential and there are no newcomers
allowed for the second week
What to expect
(Depending on group needs exercises may vary, however the intention and
the process stay the same) During the first week we do personal house
cleaning: we come home into our bodies and create safety and belonging, we
stir the (pity) pot and stalk the shadow that messes up our relationships,
we explore our own fire and get into the driver's seat while taking responsibility
for how and where we're going. This does not need to be all work and no fun
because we retrieve helpers, healers and powers for each of the lower energy
centres so we can keep it gentle, creative and powerful.
We play, sing, chant, dance, laugh, cry and share.
We do ceremonies, go on a vision quest, find personalized rites of passage,
and make our own rattles and medicine bags. During the second week we pick up
on our discoveries and share and celebrate our process and progress, we light
candles in the deepest caverns of our hearts, empower our voice, and go back
in time to the root pain/disconnection that has created so much pain and suffering.
With the assistance of our spirit helpers we name this root cause and release
it respectfully into the transforming spirit of the fire. We continue to play,
dance, sing, laugh, cry, and move on to the higher energy centres to hone our
male and female sides. We connect with the spirits in nature and the fairies
of the place, make our own flower essences and healing tinctures, and we search
for our purpose
in this life time
while allowing our hearts to become free and our minds to be without man-made
limits...
living the change we want to see in the world.
There is no experience needed to be part of this powerful and power-filled adventure,
only the honest desire and willingness to explore, heal and become your true
self... filled with your own power and following your own heart.
Who will benefit from this seminar?
Anyone who cares and wants "to be the change"... Men and
Women from all walks of life, Healers, Environmental and Social Activists,
Teachers, Artists, Dreamers, Visionaries... &
YOU
This year’s retreat is closed, but if you are interested in bringing these
amazing and experiential healing teachings to your area,
please get in touch with Marianne.
