New booklet, Saskatoon's Faiths at a Glance, launched as part of Race Relations and Cultural Diversity Month in Saskatoon

Multi-Faith Saskatoon (MFS) has published a comprehensive overview of the diverse faith communities of Saskatoon. This 60-page booklet, an MFS centennial project, includes both historical information and a basic descriptive profile of the various faith communities that are now part of our community, including First Nations Spirituality. The profiles summarize beliefs and practices and the main festivals and observances. The history includes establishment in Saskatoon. It is hoped that Saskatoon's Faiths at a Glance will give a glimpse inside the diverse communities and generate interest in further learning. Multi-Faith Saskatoon provides open houses, tours and other programming on an ongoing basis to aid that learning. A generous appendix is included to guide the user to contacts, resources and understanding of the differing calendar systems of various world religions.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS: The support of the Department of Canadian Heritage, through its Alberta-Saskatchewan Centennial Initiative Program, is gratefully acknowledged.

Individuals from various faith communities who are part of Multi-Faith Saskatoon have given invaluable input on their respective faith communities.
