About Multi-Faith Saskatoon

Multi-Faith Saskatoon (MFS) brings people together from different faiths in a spirit of friendship and celebration, to promote understanding and good will between faith communities. We believe that promoting amity, dialogue and co-operation among members of different faiths fosters a 'community of religions' in which the common ethical and spiritual values of all faiths can be better appreciated. Rooting out religious intolerance and prejudice as a source of conflict by means of interfaith dialogue is a growing phenomenon at local, national and international levels.

MFS operates under the direction of an elected Board of Directors made up of members from a wide range of faith communities.

Ongoing activities of MFS include:

Annual Festival Of Faith (October) and World Environment Day (June) events.
Providing communication links between different faith groups, encouraging inter-faith dialogues and supporting multi-faith presentations and programming in the community.
Encouraging faith communities to share the distinctness and richness of their faith with others through their events, special open houses and tours of their places of worship.
Linking with the U of S Department of Religious Studies, the University Chaplaincy, U of S Multifaith and the Prairie Center for Ecumenism (PCE). PCE promotes inter-church dialogue and interfaith understanding. They have a lending library on ecumenism and multi-faith: www.ecumenism.net or pce@ecumenism.net or 653-1633.
