She joined Curves in August. She likes it because instead of spending a boring amount of time on one machine, she gets to move to a new machine every 30 seconds or so. The week before Christmas, Centennial United Church, where Alanna has been the minister since May of 2008, was having their Christmas dinner. However, because of the snow only 25 people turned out for it. They ate one turkey but the others were sent to Our Place, a place that helps the homeless. Alanna told people that if they were afraid to travel then they should stay home, but that she would be there to lead a service. Centennial is located on motel row and she wanted to be certain that no stranger who struggled through the snow to church would be turned away by a closed door. The next Sunday brought more snow.
