1. What Alanna may feel in her body after a too vigorous workout at Curves. She joined Curves in August. She likes it because instead of spending a boring amount of time on one machine, she gets to move to a new machine every 30 seconds or so. She hasn't lost any weight or inches (as they advertise you do) but when she goes upstairs now, it doesn't hurt. She also gets a good cardio work-out because of the change in activity.

10. More moist than dry, sort of like winter in Victoria. Christmas last year, we experienced a large amount of snow (for us). Unlike people from the Prairies and Ontario, people in Victoria are daunted by any amount of snow. The week before Christmas, Centennial United Church, where Alanna has been the minister since May of 2008, was having their Christmas dinner. However, because of the snow only 25 people turned out for it. They ate one turkey but the others were sent to Our Place, a place that helps the homeless. Alanna told people that if they were afraid to travel then they should stay home, but that she would be there to lead a service.
Centennial is located on motel row and she wanted to be certain that no stranger who struggled through the snow to church would be turned away by a closed door. The next Sunday brought more snow. There were only 13 people attending in a church that can hold 600.
11. Showbiz twin Mary-Kate or Ashley
12. Aboard, in baseball (2, 4). Something Art's favourite team, the Toronto Blue Jays, were often not this past season. They started well, building up fan expectations, only to slide almost to last place in their division. We attended a Blue Jays game (they lost after blowing a 9-run lead!) when we flew to Toronto to visit Alanna's sisters and many friends. We had been worried about having to be in Toronto in July (heat, humidity). But Toronto was a pleasant surprise -- we had moderate temperatures, a little sun, a little rain (just like Victoria). However, Victoria experienced exceptional heat and humidity. When we returned to the west, temperatures were once again normal.

The teacher was a proponent of "change". Alanna kept insisting that she wanted to make "shifts", that God would make the changes. She doesn't think she convinced him. Art accompanied Alanna, sleeping in late while she attended classes and attending dinners with her at Sorrento. He received a play-by-play description of the discussions while we ate. He said he should have registered for a course, too. We had never been in that area of B.C. before so did some exploring. When the course ended, because Kelowna is so close (in Canadian terms), we visited Art's sisters and a brother. We left just before the forest fires started.
