Marmot Fudge

Karel and Max Bossi, owners of Beaver House Fudge in Duncan BC, sell Vancouver Island marmot fudge in beautifully designed one-pound gift boxes. The all-organic fudge comes in chocolate, vanilla, or swirled, with or without nuts, and $2 from the sale of each box comes directly to the Marmot Recovery Foundation. To order your fudge, call 1-800-641-4677. You can also visit the fudge folks at their store: Next to Nature Gifts in the Whippletree Junction, just south of Duncan on Vancouver Island.

Marmot Puppets!

The "Thursday Spinners", members of the Victoria Handweavers and Spinners Guild in Victoria BC, admit that they have fallen in love with the Vancouver Island marmot! They have used their considerable talents to create a knitted marmot hand puppet. The Thursday Spinners have shared the pattern with us, suggesting that 2-ply mohair yarn makes an appropriately fuzzy marmot. See what you can do! Download the puppet pattern. Adobe reader required
