Cowichan Valley and District

Very Loved. Always Remembered.

When family members leave us, there is an empty space in the home. We will always remember our loving companions. Our lives were enriched by you.

In Memory of Bodie the Rottweiler
1998 - 2009

He never met anyone he didn’t want to glurg on (lick).

In Memory of Peppy.

It is with heavy hearts that all of us at the Cowichan SPCA say goodbye to a dog who brought continual love and joy into so many lives in the short time that he was in our care. Peppy was the sweetest, gentlest dog who deserved far more than he ever got out of life. Sadly, his struggle ended Saturday when his epilepsy took a turn for the worse and he was unable to come out of the seizures. We had tried, over the last months, to regulate his condition and were hoping that somebody would come in and see past his medical needs allowing him to be a part of what every animal deserves, simply a family to call his own. It was not to be, sweet dear boy. You were well loved, and will be sorely missed. I wish we could have done better for you.

In Memory of Monty. 1997-2009

This sad day, I had to put my beloved Monty down. He was in obvious pain and the veterinarian ran tests on him. She found out that Monty was suffering from liver failure and had a large mass in his stomach which appeared to be cancer. Monty was a Mama's boy from the day I got him, relying on me to protect him from the cruel world. His early life, on the local Indian reserve, was not an easy one.

It is so sad to lose a fur friend. My brother says that we are only their caretakers for the time they are here on earth and they give us unconditional love in return.

Jordie Was A Very Special SPCA Person!

You can find ME, can you?

Picture coming soon!

I'm the King of the Castle!

Number One Cat!

When Jordie came to the SPCA, his fur was so matted, he couldn't even walk. With me, he enjoyed life as King of the Roost, with Dolly the dog as his Second in Command!

Jordie had a real personality, like no cat I have ever known. Do you know he never meowed? - but it took me a day to teach him to say "Please, Thank you and Amen". I have about 600 pictures of him alone.

Love from my happy Fur Family in Ladysmith

We Love You And Miss You Jordie,
Myrna and Dolly

In Memory of Fleur, much loved and missed so very much.

My faithful familiar Fleur was adopted from the Cowichan Valley and District, (Duncan), SPCA in August of 1998. She passed away in April of 2009. She was loved and she will be missed so very much. Thank you SPCA for bringing us together.

Tess

In Memory of our beautiful 'Miss Maggy', sometimes known as the 'Divine Miss M', who passed away March 11, 2009!

We rescued Maggie in 1997 from the Victoria SPCA along with her brother, Buddy, a Boxer, Pit X. Buddy is now 13 and still going strong. He's a little overweight with arthritis but other than that he is maintaining nicely! We also have an 11 month old Shitsu/Pom X named Barkley.

The last photo of Maggie was one with all of them in the snow at Christmas time with their Mommy. Three cats all from Victoria shelters, share the house with the dogs too!
