These are links to things I've written - hope you find something useful and informative. Hah. Home is in this direction.
I have received several requests lately from different people, students mostly, who would like permission to quote from these articles or to use them as references. I want you to know that I am more than pleased to grant you permission to do this, but ask only two things: one, that you send me an e-mail asking permission to do so; and two, that you send me an electronic copy (if possible) of the paper or presentation you did. I ask this because I'm interested to see what you are interested in, whether you found my work helpful, and what sort of conclusions you came to. I may even be able to help you with your research. It's the polite thing to do, right?
However, if you are some lazy scumsucker looking for a paper to rip off the Net, do a quick cut-and-paste and sign your name to my work, then f--- off. Do your own goddamn work. There are severe academic penalties for plagiarism, and rightly so. And now, you can be found out easily, too: John Barrie, a doctoral candidate at the University of california at Berkeley, has started a new Internet site, www.plagiarism.org. It checks submitted material against millions of online pages, including this one, and detects not only word-for-word copies but also bits and pieces of copied texts.
