BIOGRAPHY
Lorne, and his wife Barbara, met at a new dancer class in 1991– the rest, as they say, is history. Lorne began looking into calling as a hobby in 1998 and in 2004 Lorne and Barbara were hired as the club caller couple for the MAVERICKS, Victoria's oldest continuously running square dance club (1952). Barbara and Lorne dance Mainstream and Plus, Teach Mainstream, and Call Mainstream and Plus. Lorne is also a Round Dance Cuer - Phase II+.
Lorne and Barbara are world travelers and are Registered with POSH TALKS of Palm Springs, California and both teach/call Square Dancing, Round Dancing, and Contra for Cruise Lines, including, Royal Caribbean’s “Rhapsody of the Seas” and “Vision of the Seas”.
Lorne is a Staff Caller & Recording Artist with GOLD WING RECORDS of California (“It's So Easy” GWR-119 – Top 5 release in December 2008,“ Come Go With Me” GWR-117 – No. 1 song release in March 2008 and Nominee for 1st OZZIE AWARDS(2011)in two categories: Best Sing-A-Long Song and Best Choreography, “Mr. Postman" GWR-114 – Top Ten release in April 2007; and "Come A Little Bit Closer"; No. 2 release in December, 2010; In 2005 Lorne and Barbara traveled to Nashville, TN where Lorne, along with Lottie Ainsworth, Pattey Greene, Tony Oxendine, James Wass and Walt Burr recorded the special Katrina fund-raiser " When the Saints Go Marching In".
