BIOGRAPHY

   Lorne, and his wife Barbara, met at a new dancer class in 1991– the rest, as they say, is history.  Lorne began looking into calling as a hobby in 1998 and within a few years was a member of the local Victoria and Area Caller Teachers Association.  Within a short time Lorne and Barbara were invited to local festivals, summer campout dances, and began filling in for vacationing or ailing callers on Vancouver Island.

In 2004 Lorne and Barbara were hired as the club caller couple for the MAVERICKS, Victoria's oldest continuously running square dance club (1952).  Barbara and Lorne dance Mainstream and Plus and teach/call Mainstream.  They belong also to the Frontier Twirlers Square Dance Club (Herb and Linda Fox Caller Couple)  and the Rainbow Rounder's Round Dance Club (Connie and Al Ritchie Cuer Couple).  Lorne is also a Round Dance Cuer - Phase II+.

Lorne and Barbara are world travelers and have had wonderful opportunities to take a number of cruises with their square dance friends.  Lorne and Barbara are Registered with POSH TALKS and teach/call Square Dancing on various Cruise Lines.

Lorne is a Recording Artist "Mr. Postman" (2007 Release) with GOLDWING RECORDS  of California. In 2005 Lorne and Barbara traveled to Nashville, TN where Lorne, along with Lottie Ainsworth, Pattey Greene, Tony Oxendine, James Wass and Walt Burr recorded the special Katrina fund-raiser "When the Saints Go Marching In".
