Upcoming WorkshopsThe Art of Being in a Relationship In this art therapy workshop you will have the opportunity to explore who you are in relationships, learn how to balance the two basic life forces; the drive for individuality and the drive for togetherness and learn how to maintain your sense of self when you are emotionally and/or physically close to others. You will learn skills to help you develop more resilient intimate relationships and emotional connection. If you have a strong relationship, this workshop will provide you with the insights and tools to make it a great one. If your relationship is distressed, then this two-day workshop will provide a road map for repair! Enhance respect, strengthen your love, commitment and friendship, renew intimacy, and practice conflict-solving skills. Art Therapy WorkshopsThe following groups offer a creative approach to working with stress, growth and change. Examples of the groups I offer are:
Honoring the MotherA group for women who want to explore their image and issues of motherhood with other women. we will explore issues around isolation, self-esteem, self-talk, self-care and community. Making Peace with our Bodies A group for women who want to explore their body image, eating and issues with food with other women. In this group women explore their relationship to, perception of, and feelings about their bodies. Claiming Your Ruby Red Slippers A group for women who want to explore change and transitions in a group setting. I used the story of the Wizard of Oz as a metaphor of how change happens. Spirit of Art A group for people who want to work with art making as a form of self-care, soul work, play and meditation. I use ritual, visualization, and a variety of different art experiences. Collage as a Journaling Technique A group for people who want to work with metaphor and symbols in journaling. Mixed media techniques are taught. Exploring the Creative Process A group for people who want to enter the creative process and reconnect deeply with themselves. Different art mediums are explored, the art of “seeing” is experienced, and the conditions that encourage our creative process are taught. The Heart of the Studio A group for people who are looking for deeper ways to access their intuition. The various issues of resistance, from getting our self into the studio to making life changes are discussed and explored. Taming Your Inner Voice A group for people who want to learn effective techniques to stop self-criticism. Mindfulness techniques are taught to demonstrate how self-talk can be reframed to be supportive, and nurturing. Drawing Your Self a New Life: Art Therapy and Addiction Recovery A group for people who want to experience the healing quality inherent in the creative process. Making art in and of itself can be a stabilizing process while people go through recovery. Soul Garden: Healing through the Power of Nature A group for people who want to experience art therapy using the seasons and nature as a metaphor to see how we are constantly planting, weeding, feeding, nurturing and harvesting our inner and outer life. In this art therapy experience, people find their pattern of movement, change and healing. Conflict Resolution This is a group for people to learn how to cope effectively with perpetual or solvable problems. People learn how to communicate in effective ways with others. This workshop leaves people feeling confident to negotiate their way through life.
