Upcoming LessonsMaking Art Through Five Dimensions In this five day workshop we will learn about, look at and create art in five contexts. We will view, discuss and create narrative art. Narrative art includes book arts, collage, and written art forms. We will view, discuss and create outsider art. Outsider art can be defined as art done by self taught artists. We will view, discuss and create Feminist art. Feminist art may be defined as art by women artists made consciously through developments in feminist art theory over the past 40 years. We will view, discuss and create postmodern art focusing on bricolage. Bricolage is constructing a piece of art from a diverse range of things. Someone who makes art in this way is a bricoleur who invents her own strategies of using existing materials in a creative and original way. We will view, discuss and create process orientated art. Process orientated art is art making with the focus on the process. You will see the work of artists who work in these categories, explore making art yourself from these perspectives and explore many new ideas and ways of looking at and creating art. Art Lessons
My workshops and private lessons are fun filled and contain many new ideas and techniques. The flexible nature of my workshops affords each student an opportunity for one-on-one guidance. I work privately and in groups with beginning and advanced students. Some classes that I offer are; batiking papers, card making, art journaling, collage, silk paper making, and mixed media.
I am very conscious in my teaching to encourage individuals to discover their unique way of expressing in art while at the same time understanding and learning new techniques. My contagious energy and wealth of experience helps students master the art of collage and mixed media.
