- Design of reverse of 25 cent coin commemorates the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police; a new obverse for this year has a smaller bust of the Queen, and beads farther from the rim; about 10,000 are struck with larger bust obverse.
- Reverse of one dollar coin commemorates 100th anniversary of Prince Edward Island joining Canada. The obverse is slightly different from previous years, with a smaller portrait, and fewer rim beads farther from the rim.
