The Kt/V program is a Kt/V and UKM calculator for anyone who needs to work out Kt/V, be it a patient, doctor, nurse, dietician, hemodialysis clinic, etc. It will keep records of treatments that can be used or statistical purposes. It can also keep records of standard dialysis related blood tests once per month, and will print various reports based on those statistics.

When the Calculator begins, you can enter the blood test results directly into the screen, and get a URR. Click the ADVANCED button for more detailed analysis, and click OPTIONS for various program functions. Click the HELP button on almost every screen for specific help.

The program is a self extracting zip file - when you run it, it will decompress into 12 more files - the setup file `KTVSETUP.EXE', the main menu program `KTVPROG.EXE', 5 other KTV function programs, the two help files `KTVFLDS.TXT' and `KTVNSTLL.TXT', a windows icon and bitmap (KTV.ICO,KTV.BMP), and a README.TXT file. Also a GIF image of the equation it uses to work out URR and GFR.

Copy the files into a directory of your choice, (or on a thumb drive or even a floppy disc!), and run the KTVSETUP.EXE setup file. It will make a sub-directory off of the current directory, and the calculator will use this directory. You should run KTVSETUP first, or program errors will occur, the KTV* programs search for files in the this data directory when they begin, to load information stored in the files. If you are going to keep track of results, you should use the "Enter New Client" function to set up a client for the program to keep statistics for.

The program uses publicly available analysis equations, they have not been verified by me clinically, - I therefore can't guarantee that they are correct, or that the results you will get are what you expect. I also can't assume any liability for the results, or the manner in which they are used.

Quickstart directions:

1) Run the KTVSETUP program - press Y and Enter

2) The Calculator will automatically start after the setup program finishes.

3) KTVPROG.EXE is the main program - it presents a menu of the different programs and functions.
