Educational Partners
Environmental Management College of China (EMCC),
a full-time institution, is the lead environmental college
in China. The college is working closely with Harmony to
develop and implement the community leadership program.
The program secretariat will reside at EMCC.
Earth Council Alliance promotes cooperation
and alliance between existing Earth Councils, National Councils
for Sustainable Development, and other similarly situated
organizations around the world. ECA was instrumental in
introducing the program in China, and will continue to seek
support and potential partners for the program.
Established in 2002, the Oriental Environment Institute
(OEI) is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) founded by
Prof.Qu Geping (President of OEI). OEI provides leadership
and liaison with the government of China.
The Center for Urban Innovation (CUI) is
the initiator and host of the highly successful conference
series: “Gaining Ground—Sustainable Urban Development
Summit”. The series, held to-date in Victoria, Canada,
has attracted hundreds of professional delegates from the
U.S., Canada, Mexico, and China. CUI is currently planning
sustainable development conferences and knowledge-transfer
programs throughout North America and in China and Mexico.
The BCIT School of Construction and the Environment
is concerned with the natural environment, the built environment
and the relationship between them. The goal is to provide
students with the knowledge and skills required to address:
sustainable development, alternative energy sources, building
science, construction occupations training, new materials,
new methods of construction, housing and habitat technologies,
environmental reclamation, and water and land stewardship.
NTCMC National Training Centre for Mayors in China
(NTCMC) is an official Chinese government training institution
charged with training China’s mayors on a broad range
of issues and subjects. NTCMC and Harmony will lead the
development and implementation of training for mayors on
sustainable community development.
Harmony Foundation is registered as a charitable organization under Revenue Canada Charitable Number 10808 3973 RR0001
and has tax exempt status in the U.S.A. under paragraph 501 (c) (3) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Service code.
