A Message from our President

I would like to share and recognize some of our past achievements:

  • Installed two new wharves and apron
  • New retaining wall; doubles as community memorial wall
  • Refurbished Municipal washrooms maintained by EAA
  • Use thousands of volunteer hours to maintain upkeep of grounds, buildings and wharves (Had extensive work done on pilings, walkways leading to wharves for safety.)
  • Provide meeting space for Auxiliary Coast Guard Rescue, Golden Rods and Reels, Pro Pats Legion, Amalgamated Conservation Society, Goldstream Hatchery local Advisory Meetings, Hosted International Laser Sailing competitions, Frost Bite Derby and local members' derby since 1985
  • We release thousands of salmon fry/smolts into Esquimalt waterfront each year.
  • We support with money and volunteer labour:
    • Howard English Hatchery
    • Craigflower Creek and Millstream enhancement programs. And
    • the Amalgamated Conservation Society.
  • Creation of Buxton Green and the lighting of Buxton Green
  • One of the longest volunteer service clubs in Esquimalt (1951)
  • Installed marker buoy with mural depicting our nautical heritage.
  • Community involvement, including:
    • Buccaneer Days float and kids' races AND the famous fish n' chips!
    • Provided funds for the pool lift in the Rec. Centre and elevator,
    • $1,000 donation to the 'Raise a Little Hal' Rec. Centre support drive,
    • Dry Grad, Scholarship at Esquimalt High,
    • Santa's Anonymous, Mustard Seed, Salvation Army,
    • Boy Scouts, and venue for trout fishing when the Rec. Centre was closed.
