OPTIONS FOR COOPERATION

This Broad Coalition initiative was undertaken to offer well thought-out options for cooperation of progressive parties for the 2005 provincial election in order to avoid vote splitting and another four years of Liberal government.

Process

First Stage

In December 2003, the options committee of the Broad Coalition sent an invitation to its email list and the email list for the Coalition for BC to share suggestions on how the NDP and Green Party could cooperate for the 2005 election. We were very encouraged by the many thoughtful responses we received and are grateful to those who submitted them.

Second Stage

The Options Form was emailed to the lists for evaluation. Responses were also gathered using this online Options Form. The committee will analyze the feedback and determine the most supported suggestions. The final result will be sent to both Green Party and NDP provincial councils.

The Broad Coalition believes that the leadership of both parties needs to hear what people are saying about cooperation.
