Scientific properties:
Fluorite is the natural crystalline form of calcium fluoride (CaF2). Fluorite becomes colored during formation from other elements. These elements impart emerald green and purple amethyst colors. They can also be grey to clear with a single crystal having bands of multiple colors. Fluorite is also known by other names: Androdamant, Bruiachite, Derbyshire Spar, Flußspat Liparite (of Glocker) Lysspat Murrhina. It also known as : "African Emerald", Chinese Emerald, "Blue John", "False Amethyst" and Yttrofluorite .
