Constructive Citizen Participation Newsletter

This eight-page quarterly newsletter was started by Desmond M. Connor in June, 1973, to provide information on happenings in this new field, case studies, technique articles and publication reviews.After nearly 30 years, the full hardcopy publication with editorials, feature articles and case studies, ceased with the June 2002 issue. Updates of Inprint and Happenings ended with the March 2003 issue.

• "The Victoria Eaton Centre" is one of the most demanding projects I have undertaken; the usually silent majority just barely prevailed over the articulate, organized opposition.

• "Nootka Sound Stability Coalition" describes co-operation between municipalities, native bands and a forest company.

• "The Bridges of Winnipeg" shows how to combine conflict resolution and public participation for challenging cases.

Section VI -Global Applications

• "The Challenge for Forest Companies in Chile"
  Better relationships with neighbouring communities (Hernán Blanco) is a case study using a corporate and community socil profile, responsive publication, open house and planning workshop to achieve significant results.
