WEST COAST CANOE COMPANY was begun by  Larry Bowers on no more than his passion for cedar canvas canoes.  Since 1991 with much perseverance and hard work along with the support and assistance of his family , has enabled the business to grow and prosper. Larry's canoes are constructed of the finest yellow cedar, which is native to the West Coast.  The ribs are steamed and bent over molds and planking is attached to these ribs with brass tacks.  The wooden shell is removed from the mold, trimmed, decks installed, sanded and readied for canvas.  The canvas skin is stretched extremely tight and then the weave is  filled with either a traditional or industrial filler. Finally the canoe is finished with multiple coats of marine quality varnish and paint.

We have built many canoes over the years for customers all over the world from Japan to Europe and to all parts of the USA.   Our canoes can even be seen in the Movie "ALASKA" and the series "DEAD MANS GUN".

We love to build canoes and that is reflected in our finished product.  Our confidence in our quality and workmanship allows us to offer a 1 year full replacement guarantee against defects in materials and workmanship.
