Prices are set to be affordable while at the same time allowing for professional service and a resulting high quality product. The hourly consultation rate is $50.00 and estimates are given free of charge. The following are some sample packages that may be of interest. - Basic Package: $ 80 - $110
- - Complete composition of a 1-page résumé based on the information provided in the completed questionnaire provided to you. Additional pages are $40 each. Price includes basic wording, layout, word-processing and 5 laser printed masters on bond paper. Just the facts, but perfect for summer jobs, part-time work and entry level positions
- Standard Package: $ 110 - $150
- - Complete composition of a 1-page résumé. Additional pages are $50 each. Price includes consultation, word-processing, Job Search Tips & Traps sheet and 10 laser printed masters on bond paper. Similar to the Basic Package but with more consultation time, customization and detail. Short and sweet but just the thing for recent graduates or those looking to step up from entry-level employment.
- Intermediate Package: $ 150 - $200
- - Creative composition of a targeted, customized 1-2 page résumé. Additional pages $70 each. Price includes consultation, wording, layout, word-processing, Job Search Tips & Traps sheet and 20 laser printed masters on bond paper. A little more time and effort is provided for candidates in middle management, professionals, skilled trades or those with 5+ years experience. - Executive Package: $ 190 - $290
- - Detailed composition of a targeted, customized 1-2 page résumé for the more experienced candidate. Additional pages $ 90. Price includes in-depth consultation, wording, layout, word-processing, Job Search Tips & Traps sheet and 30 laser printed masters on bond paper. Perfect for the discerning client who will benefit from a more polished look. This résumé is in a class by itself. Not overly fancy but very professional and persuasive. Great for executives, senior managers, consultants, professionals and business owners.
- Scannable or Internet Résumés: $ 30 - $70
- - These versions are specially developed to be easily scanned into employers data bases for easy retrieval.

The Victoria Job Market
Victoria is a wonderful city to live in but the job market is somewhat challenging. The trick is knowing where the good jobs are and how to get one. At Résumés PLUS we understand the anxiety and confusion associated with searching for employment because we have successfully guided thousands of people through this process.
Victoria's major employers are government and the service/tourist industries including hotels, retailers, etc. The recent down-sizing of both federal and provincial governments has added to the supply of workers searching for "non-government" jobs. Statistically, the applicants who are properly prepared for their search are the ones that succeed, even when the competition is fierce.
There are a wide variety of services to assist you ranging in their level of qualification from professional résumé services to secretarial services to home-typing services. Make sure you understand the "cost vs quality" trade-off with each of these options and select the one that best serves your needs. Tips and Traps
1. Start with the best possible résumé. It's a competitive market out there. Make sure your résumé is not outdated. If it is it will probably get lost in the pile. 80% of résumés are either outdated or presented in the incorrect style.
2. Plan your search. Find out where the good jobs are and concentrate on them.
3. Don't use mail-outs and newspaper ads as your only leads. They produce the lowest percentage of jobs (<15%). Seek out the other sources of jobs (The Hidden Market).
4. Negotiate properly for salary/benefits. Know what to ask for, it's your future!
5. Beware of unqualified advice. Family and friends try to help but fail to realize that the type of résumé they produce is no better than the résumé produced by the family and friends of other applicants. Unfortunately, it often gets lost in the pile. Know when it is cost effective to bring in professionals such as Résumés PLUS.
