Eugene Osadchy and Arthur Rowe

Eugene Osadchy, 'cello
Arthur Rowe, piano

Hailed by the New York Times as having "the most refined and balanced string playing", Russian cellist Eugene Osadchy is a former principal cellist of the Vancouver CBC Orchestra and is now professor of cello at the University of North Texas. He returns to the series for his second recital with pianist Arthur Rowe, and they open the 2009 concert season with sonatas for cello and piano by Bach, Brahms, and, of course, Mendelssohn. The thrilling opening of his D major cello sonata is one of the great themes in the literature.
