Welcome

Walter Meyer zu Erpen for Party Chair

I am seeking the position of Party Chair because we need a strong, effective Green Party to support Jane Sterk as our new leader in her efforts to implement real solutions to the issues facing British Columbia. A strong, renewed Green Party will hold the NDP and BC Liberals to account.

I have the management experience, professional skills and time to take on the volunteer position of Party Chair (approx. 15 hours per week). During my years volunteering for the party as candidate, campaign manager, and on Provincial Council, the number of green voters has increased significantly.

Jane Sterk for Party Leader

My endorsement of Jane Sterk ( www.janesterk.ca ) as the strongest candidate for Leader, Green Party of British Columbia

Each of the candidates seeking to lead the Green Party of British Columbia would bring a unique set of assets to the position. After careful consideration and with due respect to the other candidates, I have decided to give Jane Sterk this public endorsement in her bid for the position of Leader.

The reasons for my choosing Jane Sterk as the strongest candidate to lead BC’s Green Party are several. The process in which the Green Party membership is currently engaged is about choosing the best individual for the position of leader. From my personal friendship with Jane Sterk since 2003, I am convinced that Jane is the candidate with the combination of experience, skills, and knowledge best suited to the requirements of the job.

What to do when you receive your ballot

Green Party elections are conducted by universal mail-in ballot. If your membership is current or if it has lapsed within the twelve months prior to the AGM (21 October 2006 to 20 October 2007), please be sure to take part in the election of a new leader and Provincial Council members.

When you receive the AGM and ballot package in early October, I would ask that you cast your vote for Walter Meyer zu Erpen as Party Chair and for Jane Sterk as Party Leader, as well as for other members of Provincial Council. Then please immediately return your ballots by mail unless you are certain that you will be attending the AGM on 20-21 October at Royal Roads University, Victoria.
