VICTORIA UNITED FC PLAYER CODE OF CONDUCT - 2012
Victoria United FC's mission is to provide the highest possible level of soccer excellence in Greater Victoria for our players and our fans. This has been characterized by a professional approach to everything we do. By any measure, we have been one of the most successful members of the Pacific Coast Soccer League, both on and off the field, over the past 19 years.
Victoria United FC have joined the True Sport Movement (www.truesport.ca) and have committed to their Principles: Go For it; Play Fair; Respect Others; Keep it Fun; Stay Healthy and Give Back.
You have a responsibility to our fans, advertisers, Directors, volunteers and indeed our players to conduct yourself in a professional manner. Because of this, you as a player are asked to review the following conduct guidelines, and agree to abide by them. Violations may be subject to Club Discipline.
Guidelines on the Field:
► Respect teammates, competitors and officials both on and off the field
► Champion ethical conduct, avoid foul language or dangerous play
► Wear only team gear when on the bench
► Recognize and honour the people: coaches, organizers, officials and volunteers
Guidelines off the Field:
► Punctuality for all team practices, games and team events
► Act in a professional manner: Develop, protect and nurture places and spaces that are hospitable and conducive to the safe enjoyment of the sport.
► Observe any curfews initiated by team officials during team travel
►When at a social gathering during a team event (such as travel, meals or media events), conduct yourself professionally. Teams represent the community, wherever they compete.
►During road trips, REMEMBER, you are representing Victoria United FC.
Victoria United FC is run by a large number of volunteers. We are entirely supported by these people, along with our advertisers, and limited funding from B.C. Gaming. You are representing an outstanding professional organization, and we expect you to conduct yourself accordingly. Play honestly and obey the guidelines.
