VICTORIA UNITED FC ANNOUNCES ATHLETIC AWARD FOR STUDENT ATHLETES
Victoria United FC is pleased to confirm the establishment of the Victoria United FC Athletic Award, commencing this season. The annual award, funded by two major advertisers and Victoria United FC, is open to a player from either the Premier team or Reserve team. It provides for a minimum of $1,500 for a Victoria United player who has been accepted to either Camosun College or the University of Victoria in the Fall.
“This annual award is meant to benefit one of our players who could use the financial assistance in pursuing their academic career,” said Victoria United President Bill McCreadie today. “The Award Selection Committee will consider a number of factors, including the player’s financial circumstances, his academic history, his attitude and performance both on and off the field, and his submission to the Committee. The Award is something that we are very proud to establish, and the winner will be announced at our final home game on July 16.”
