ABOUT US

Gulf Islands Kayaking is an owner-operated company established by Ben Miltner in 1982.

Ben and his guides have extensive experience in kayaking skills, leadership and Wilderness First Aid (a very high level of first aid cerification).

We have operated tours throughout the Gulf Islands/Vancouver Island region since 1982, and in the Gulf of Nicoya and around the Osa Peninsula of Costa Rica since 1987.

Our keen interest in and knowledge of inter-tidal marine life, migratory birds and mammals, coastal weather, and local legends and lore ensures a memorable kayaking experience.

We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of service and quality of experience possible. The safety and comfort of our customers is our priority. We feature small groups in the best Canadian-made kayaks, Necky, Nimbus and Current Designs.

Beginner or experienced...
We specialize in introducing beginners of all ages to sea kayaking with a relaxed, easy-paced approach with all the safety equipment required. For the experienced kayaker, we provide a more rigorous and adventureous experience.
