God always sends along an "Angel" when we need help.

What next? Flat tires - a very common occurrence. Unfortunately neither Erica or I are strong enough to lift the tires but...

Yohanna is now on the scholarship program, attending her first year of high school.  She comes from a small fishing village where there is no high school, and would never have been able to attend if not for the scholarship fund.

Johanna graduated from our program in 2008 and received her sewing machine upon graduation.  Thank you for buying it for her.

Jessica is one of our scholarship students.  She and her sister Kenya are both in their 4th year of high school, studying towards degrees in business administration.  They are extremely poor and this mud house is their home.  They would never have been able to attend high school if you hadn't helped.  Thank you

On April 30 we dedicated our beautiful new property to the Lord.  Even though we are still in the planning stages, it is exciting to remember that God has the perfect plan for its use.

In April a work team from Canada came to do maintenance work at the Center and to build a new house for Lucia, a very poor, very needy mother of two of our former students.  What a blessing they were.  While they were here another friend from Canada arrived at the Center  with a car full of computers, donated by one of the school districts in Canada.  Walter drove all the way from Canada through the States, Mexico and Guatemala with this very special gift for our girls.  You can only imagine the looks on their faces when they realized the computers were for them.  We have now started classes and these girls, most of whom have never even touched a computer before are well on their ways to learning how to type and use the computer.   Thank you to everyone that was on the work team, to Walter and to the school district in  Canada which donated the computers.

May 15th was my birthday.  We celebrated on the 14th and had a great day.  Lunch time was a "Party", with about 35 people sharing tamales, and two different kinds of cake.  Delicious... Tamales are the traditional food in Honduras, used to celebrate special days.  These pictures are taken in the dining room of our Ministry Center.

This year we have 20 girls, 10 first year and 10 second year.  A great bunch of girls as you can see.

Today is the beginning of what I hope will be improved communications with you the friends and supporters of Christian Ministries to Central America.   This is the beginning of my 21st year of living and ministering in Honduras.  I have tried to keep everyone up to date with what is happening in the ministry in my newsletters, but it is easy to forget or miss things when I am only writing every few months.  Hopefully blogging will be a way to keep the news more current.
