On Saturday, July 5th, 2003 Rocky Point Bird Observatory
President and BC Birder/Bander extrordinaire, was himself finally
netted and banded. Surrounded by hundreds of family and friends,
including a healthy contingent of birders, David Allinson and
Marcy McKay were wed at an outside ceremony beneath huge Douglas
Fir and Atlas Cedars forming a chapel with a cacophony of Violet-Green
Swallows overhead. (The groom only stole one surreptitious glance.)Some
folks wondered whether there would ever be a woman (or?) that
would net this rare bird. Little did we know an equally rare individual
was lurking in the wings.
